I am the type of guy who would forget my Palm was in my pocket and play volleyball. This is the only case that protects while maintaining the thin attractivness of the Palm V. I have since upgraded to the Tungsten and could not find a case that compared to this one.
But this is actually what I had. No protection is offered by this device. I carried this in an inner jacket pocket for two weeks and wound up with a cracked Vx screen.
Cool looking case. Color looks cool, and the aluminum plates really make it look nice.Sounds shady, but it actually arrived fast & brand new.My only complaint about this case is that the lid does not fold back behind the palm when opened like soft cases & some hard cases; it only flips out flat next to the palm or straight up in the air. This is mostly a problem only when using the cradle, as you have to take it out of the case to get it in there. Besides that one little pet peve, I'm very happy I got it.
The protection is very good and the aluminum pieces don't detract from it. I purchased the Palm V hard case in order to protect my palm without being unnecesarily bulky. Also, it looks much better in person than the photo. It fits the job well. As has been noticed with other people, the case is in fact plastic with aluminum pieces glued on, but it's ok. The photo looks sort of aqua-ish from here, in person it's more like a navy blue. I haven't dropped my palm yet, but I expect the case to handle it very well if I do.
The sleek case design adds very little to the gerth of the unit. while in my purse. I had problems with my palm turning on, etc. I did discover one minor flaw, when placing the palm into the craddle for charging/syncing, the hard case gets in the way. This case saved the day as I would have given-up on the palm otherwise. Another nice feature is the back pocket -- perfect for holding about five business cards. So, instead of removing the case each time, I simply hang the case hang over the side of my desktop. It certainly solves the problem for me, but it may be a dangerous option for a clumsy person with hard floors.
